Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Contract – Rotating Equipment)

Location: UK & International (On-Site Work) (Depot, North East, England)

Type: Short-Term Contract | Freelance Opportunities

Industry: Petrochemical / Power Generation / Industrial Engineering

We are currently building our network of experienced Mechanical Fitters and Technicians for short-term contract assignments supporting projects across petrochemical sites and power stations in the UK and internationally.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled contractors with hands-on expertise in rotating equipment and site-based work within highly regulated environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical fitting and maintenance of rotating equipment, including:
    • Steam turbines
    • Gas compressors
    • Pumps and associated systems
  • On-site inspection, servicing, overhauls, and repairs
  • Adhering to strict safety and procedural guidelines
  • Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience with rotating equipment in industrial/petrochemical/power generation settings
  • Previous on-site work at petrochemical facilities or power stations
  • Valid Safety Passport – CCNSG or VCA (mandatory)
  • Ability to work flexibly on short notice for contract-based assignments
  • Right to work in the UK (and internationally, where applicable)

Contract Details:

  • Short-term contracts (project dependent)
  • Competitive day and hourly rates, based on experience and scope of work
  • Opportunities for recurring projects with established industrial clients
  • Accommodation and travel support may be provided for off-site projects
