HGV Class 2 Driver / Industrial Services Operative

Four Chambers Recruitment are proud to be working with our client, a long-standing leader in the drainage sector who are now expanding into Industrial Services. As part of this exciting new division, we are recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers / Industrial Services Operatives to join their growing team.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on role, combining HGV driving with industrial site work. You’ll be operating specialist vehicles and equipment on projects such as:
- Cleaning and maintenance of industrial tanks, sewers, drains and large-scale storage tanks
- Blockage clearance, septic tank emptying and flood response
- Pipe and tank cleansing programmes
- Emergency and reactive works across the UK
You’ll be working outdoors in all weather, handling physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, working at heights and in confined spaces (sometimes with BA equipment). Flexibility is key — the role involves nationwide travel and participation in a standby rota for out-of-hours call-outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 2 vehicles (CPC required)
- Hold a Category C Licence
- Carry out industrial cleaning and waste disposal
- Attend spill response and environmental clean-up projects
- Operate suction machines and other specialist equipment
- Follow strict health & safety procedures at all times
- Accurately use job management apps and electronic tablets
- Work collaboratively within a team while being confident to work independently
Essential Requirements
- HGV Class 2 Licence + CPC
- Previous experience operating large vehicles, Tankers/Jet Vacs
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling, confined spaces, and working outdoors
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions clearly
- Safety-focused mindset
- Handballing
Desirable (but not essential – training can be provided)
- ADR licence (hazardous goods)
- Water Jetting Certificate
- Confined Space with BA qualification
- Working at Heights certification
- Class 1 Licence
